Issues

So many issues face us all everyday; but crime, safety, and our families well-being are  paramount to all of us.  It informs how and where we live.  Kaufman County has experienced tremendous growth in the last five years and it will continue.  Your safety is my number one concern.  So, how am I and the Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office addressing these issues for you?

Crime Prevention

A civil society allows us to exercise our fundamental Constitutional rights.  We have experienced many issues in the last years with police and the rights of citizens.  This debate will continue, but the need for law, effective enforcement of the law, and equal justice within the court system is the basis of a free society.  Looking around the country, large cities are struggling with crime; mostly because of their failure to enforce the law and de-funding the police.   This approach in urban centers is the wrong one.  How can we be a free society, if we can not truly safe?  Being safe in your community is what I promise to strive to ensure for every citizen and business owner in Kaufman County.  

Safety

Keeping your home and community safe starts with you and law enforcement working respectfully together in partnership. Every year the District Attorney’s office honors the victims of criminal cases and recognize our law enforcement partners that assist in the resolution of cases involving victims of crimes.

Families First

Family is the basic unit in our society.  As parents, we get to decide what choices we want to make for ourselves and our children and not have the government tell us what our choices are.  I’ve been blessed with a wonderful family and I will maintain the same rights for you - that I enjoyed growing up in our great state.
